Okay with I_Suck's help (thank you so much I_Suck) I was able to make Tales of Destiny (great PSX game) and beat it. Now I want to get Tales of Destiny II (jap PS2 Torrent Size 2.3GB) since it is the direct sequel to TOD.

I got a couple of questions, I tried reading the other posts (Newbie FAQ) and apologize if any1 feels like I am wasting their time. I am the kind of person that needs to be told he is doing it right:

1. Do I really need to dl Peer Guardian 2 to keep myself safe?

2. I have a Old Big PS2 with a Matrix Infinity Mod Chip, will it play this game and do I need to rebuild games with this modchip?

3. All games will fade with time right, they won't stay good forever (whats the average life of a game burned under 4x)?

4. What does the speed of the DVD mean? I know I want to burn it at the slowest writing speed possible, I saw something in the newbie FAQ that says you can burn at half the write speed safely.

5. It seems that the best DVD for this job is Taiyo Yuden 4X DVD-R (can I only get these online?) unless you guys have other suggestions?

6. Should I booktype this DVD?

7. Any good places you can send me where I can learn how to read the writing in my Japanese Imports?

Thanks for everyone's time and have a nice day

Just do it exactly the same I_suck told you to do it. The ps2 should read the game exactly the same as it would with #1.

Tales of Destiny was for PSX and Tales of Destiny II is for PS2.
You gotta use DVD instead of CDR and I'm not sure if CloneCD will burn PS2 ISO's to DVD.

use peergardian when downloading torrents.
if you use matrix infinity then it doesn't need rebuild.
use good media and dont scratch it , the game should be fine.
dont book type dvd-r unless your ps2 likes dvd+r

cheers :)

@lufian guy

1. yes, use peer gaurdian

2. matrix infinity is one of the best chips around. you won't have to rebuild. in case of DVD-9 u will have to burn them onto DL discs.

3. hard to answer, keep them in good condition inside dvd wallets or cases and they shud last 6 months to 1 year. but i ain't sure on this.

4. don't burn at lowest, burn at half speed of the maximum speed. say u get 8x discs burn at 4x. if 4x disc burn at 2x. 16x speed is not recommended coz it has given some problems to users.

5. Taiyo Yuden are considered king around here. so it is recommended that you get them. get 8x ones if you can, becoz people love them.
u can get these online
UK- http://www.svp.co.uk

from tokijin's faq:
86. Q. Where can I find good deals on legit Taiyo Yuden's and Verbatim's?
A. http://www.supermediastore.com
Great List of Merchants locally, online, in the U.K., etc:
http://www.digitalfaq.com/dvdguides/buyerguides/buymedia.htm

6. u cannot book-type -R, when u burn DL discs, remember to get +DL and book-type those.

7. http://www.gamefaqs.com

i wish u a nice day as well
