Help with PAL to NTSC conversion for Sniper Elite

So i recently got sniper elite pal since it was the only version i could find that i could download easily and was hoping to be able to patch it with the pal2ntsc converter with y fix or even adrpatcher but both programs gave me the same results. The game loads up but its all black with just sound and it seems what would be the screen is way off to the left of the screen like i can just barely see a sliver of the normal screen. Is it that this game is just unpatchable? or did i mess up somewhere. Any help would be appreciated

Oh and one more question. If i get an iso for swap magic 2.0 (since its all i can find) can i use it with my modded ps2 just for the purpose of being able to switch NTSC to PAL signal?

Since you have a mod it will be able to boot it up. The SM signal switch should work though.

Then chances are your chip doesn't have a built in Y fix. The black screen with the patchers is usually a sign of incompatibility for that game. You could do as you propose and boot a copy of Swap Magic with your chip, Even still Swap Magic's video mode is far from perfect, the game may still appear in black and white.

yeah, i would get the NTSC version if you can find it. I know when i first got Sniper Elite (PAL) and was using Swap Magic, even after changing screen modes it would have a bit of the picture cut off at the bottom where the ammo and map were. Although it did play in color just fine. And conversion programs don't do much better.
Once i got my newer PS2 with DMS4 Pro it worked like a charm.
Although i have not played it much it looks like a really fun game.
But Swap Magic should be able to play any PAL game in color no problem. It will just not fix the small amount of screen you will have due to the conversion in screen modes.

I used my Swap Magic 2.0 original and it worked, funny things is, is that I had to select NTSC lol. Yeah I can't wait for an NTSC release too. Oh yeah, the game was very choppy and froze after I selected single player game, oh well though.

I tried playing it from disc. I'm getting the PC version now, and I just got my Super Joy Box 5 Pro so I can use my PS2 controller now on my PC. w00t!

I used HD Advance 2 and had the same exact problem when I converted it. I tried a few y fix variations but nothing works. So it cant be a modchip or y fix issue. If anyone has anyway to fix this please tell me.

Did you try Adr Pathcer and PAL2NTSC Patcher with Y fix?

37. Q. I downloaded a PAL game, how do I convert it to NTSC?
A. Use Adrenaline patcher if it's an EA game: http://www.megagames.com/ps2/ps2_utils_files.shtml#ADRenalin%20Patcher Note: I've been told this works for non EA games as well. The screen won't be perfectly centered, unless you have a modchip that forces video mode.
