backing up/copying a coaster

hey guys, my friend has given me a back up of fifa 06 for the ps2 but its a coaster which is exactly as i guessed since it was a datawrite disk, i put it through nero and it tells me its a cmc mag so my hunch was confirmed,
anyway can i rip the game to my hard drive using dvd decryptor and then burn it to better media like verbs so it will work on my ps2 or will it fail as it is a coaster that i am ripping the game from.

1.is the game working but skips/lags/freezes?
2.or it doesn't work at all.
in case 1, burning onto good media like verb shud sort it out.
in case 2, i am not sure but it is unlikely to work but there is no harm in trying.
EA games give a lot of trouble so rebuilding it will be helpful as well.

it is a black screen at the start so now what, should i try anyway because it is really the data i am ripping from the disk (arent i??)

I used to use datawrite before visiting this forum about a year and a half ago"Just joined recently though" obviously they cant touch verbatim or TY but my 40 or so datawrite backups still work perfectly.Off course an extra few years down the line the story will obviously change but they arent the the spawn of satan like everyone thinks ive seen alot of more expensive DVD'S that produce more coasters than datawrite.i used to have the orange 8X DVD+R but now im converted to Verbatim 8X DVD+R.Maybe its just a psychological thing but i feel so much better burning nice shiny Verbatim's :).

but the fact of the matter is that this particular datawrite disk is a coaster and so my question is that can i still copy it and will it work

yeh i tend to say more than i need to lol yeh your dvd laser in ur pc is alot better than the ps2's so it should read it fine just read with DVD Decrypter then burn the image. simple

black screen means a bad burn. i think it wud be safe for you to burn it on verb . do a straight burn with DVD Decrypter.

ok thanx allot for your help guys, i dont have any decent media right now but im gettin some tomorrow, but for now ill just read the image onto my harddrive before i give it back to my mate,
