IM A NEWBIE TO COMPUTERS AND THIS WEBSITE AND MY FRIEND TOLD ME THAT YOU GUYS KNOW MORE ABOUT COMPUTERS THAN THE PROGRAMMERS THEM-SELFS AT NASA!!! SO HERES MY PROBLEM. I WENT TO GET MY CABLE MODEM INSTALLED AND MY COMPUTER TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS A WINSOCK ERROR. ...WHAT DOES WINSOCK MEAN? WHAT DO I DO? I HAVE DONE A LITTLE RESEARCH AND STILL DO NOT HAVE A CLUE WHAT IT IS. CAN ANYONE HELP ME OUT? THANK YOU EVERYONE.

First off, I'll help ya with some common internet courtesy.

Don't type in all CAPS!! It means you are yelling.

Second, you can download and install the WinSock fix from either Microsoft's website, or the links below:
