Hi all, pretty new to this stuff, i was trying to backup this game. I put it through DVD Decrypter and them backed up the ISO file using Clonedvd2 with a BenQ writer. Now when i put it in my sony the Playstation2 screen shows and thats it. Any clues as to why this didn't work??
Regards
Johnno

Ummm probably because I'm a novice and thought thats what i should do ....LOL.
I'll give that a go though now that you have mentioned it.
I'm using some disks my wife found on special called MagMedia DVD-R
1x - 8x 4.7GB.
Oh and BTW the game was called Need For Speed Mostwanted, sorry about that.

Unless I'm realy missing something I can't see a way to burn from Decrypter??
Could you step me through it if it's not to much hassle on your behalf, I would really appreciate it.

hi
when you back up a disc make sure you have good media (like taiyo yuden, verbatim etc) to burn to there is a list of recommended media here -
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/240341
magmedia may cause more problems than it's worth. also ensure you burn as slow as possible when backing up a game 1X - 2X as this will also ensure better results.

Glad you got it to work, but you really need to get some better discs (it will save you a lot of trouble later).

some bargains are not worth it lol, i know that these women love to shop but you can get verbatims or $ony (made in japan) on offer at best buy 50 for $14.99 these are good prices, at the moment it is $onys on offer. take the wife to the store & let HER find them then she will be so impressed that she found such a good deal lol.
to be honest - with cheaper branded media you will get more burn errors & if you do get lucky & get a sucsessful burn in about 6 months time the disc will not read & it's only use will be as a frisbee.
try the best buy trick on her lol (sams or office max usually have some good barins that you might like to "point" her in the direction of
good luck

They are very good prices, but i live in Australia and have never heard of one of those store's or that amount of quality DVD disks for that price.

johnno666,
the best media is taiyo yuden from japan, for these you could try ebay as we can't get em in australia.
other places to get good media would probably be harvey norman, dick smith, officeworks, places like that, places that sell computer products. the best media we could probably get in aus would probably have to be the vertabim or sony
