Hi guys i have a Speedstream 5200 modem downstairs with my speedstream 6300 router. Im 99% sure i hooked everything up properly. The problem is that i think the DSL light on the Router is suppose to light up but its not. The DSL light for the Speedstream5200 modem is on but not for the router. My computer upstairs which is using a Linksys Wireless router picks up the signal and i always have to manually connect and put the WEP password all the time. The main problem is that in about 20-30mins it disconnects. I dont think its signal strength because i have a "very good" signal strength. I dont think its signal inteference because it use to work perfectly fine but we took it out because we wanted to switch things around the house and now we tried to put it back to the way it use to be and now its not workin properly. I've tried updating my firmware and it says its up to date.

It seems to be a common problem but i dont see any definite answers out there and i tried lots of things. Is there any settings i should try. Anyone have a good idea of what i should do?

Thanks again guys!

probably because your using a modem and a router. if the router has a DSL light that means it has a built in modem, you need to use the router instead of the modem.

read the manual for the router to find out how to set it up properly
