Lethal,

Today my Hard Drive went out on my comp. (or something happened to my op. system) Does copypod work well? Have there been any problems with it? Would I be able to restore my comp like Dell support said to do and use copypod to rip music off my iPod back to my PC? Or is there any other way to boot my PC? Could I boot my PC off a second hard drive?

Thanks,
~Domreis

CopyPod won't copy the videos over, no. The only methods I can think of for Video --> PC transfer are the following

1. "The manual route"

Open My Computer
Go Tools --> Folder Options --> View (tab) --> then check the option "Show Hidden files & folders"
Now open your iPod drive
Click iPod_Control
Then Hit Music

You will now have a few folders named F00, Fo1, F02 etc

Search through these folders & locate your video files. They may not be correctly tagges, but should be once you re-import them into iTunes.

2. Anapod Explorer

Great iPod third-party tool with video support..

This might be a shot in the dark but you can try. Go into start menu. Hit search. and type in name of movie. If you are lucky the movie will come up and you can copy and paste it onto your harddrive ^^ .

I am not sure if that will work, as the filenames change once they are transferred to the iPod.

Thanks serpiroth and Lethal! First I am going to take my Hard Drive out of My PC and take it to anouther PC and see if I will be able to read the files! It might work because the only prob with the Hard Drive is that the data used to boot upo the PC got currpted! If that fails I will try your methods!

Glad you solved the problem Domreis. I still use the older version of Copypod, minus the video support. The way I suggested will work just as easily, though; as I have already tested it.

I have a question domreis, are you saying that if you make an emergency playlist and put all your songs in it, you can recover them through my search method? Kinda like a back-up drive? (i am to cheap to pay for copypod ^^)
