Hello everyone-
Just to start I'm a complete noob at this. However, I have been using the search function and reading on here for some time.
The problem I have having is with the MagicKeys 2. It's the version that goes with the V14 slimline ps2. I'm wondering if it was damaged in the mail or if I'm just an idiot and can't figure something simple out.
I can get the swap magic to spin sometimes, when the key is not all the way in place, but when it push it down to secure it, the disc stops. BTW... I'm talking about the one that installs in the back left of the ps2.
If anyone could tell me if you're supposed to bend it in anyway or give some tips on how you got yours correctly installed *including the lid closing right, because I read that was a problem if it was done incorrectly* that would be great.
It's a new ps2 so that's why I didn't go another method for modding it other than swapmagic.
Any advice would be great, thanks.
I'm a noob

Does the swap magic screen show up? If so everything is fine.

I know what you mean I had to re bend mine to get it working I think it may have been damaged in the post all I can sugest is try rebending it around a bit lots of trial and error so you can get the lid closed and still keep the disk spinning
there is a guide here

Thanks for the response. However, I?m still having problems.
Can one of you that uses the magickeys 2 help me out. In relation to the lid hinge is the leg supposed to be parallel to it? or closer to the right side of the ps2 or the left side. Also, forward to back? should it be straight up and down, towards the front or slightly towards the back of the box? If it were possible to look inside and see where the switch was, it would be somewhat easier I would think.
Thanks for any help.

Yea I did that.. but since I didn't buy the product from there you don't get the entire manual. It just shows how it should look on the outside... but not where it's supposed to be going on the inside.

Come on now... I know like a million people on this board use these things.
What I really need is how the part that goes inside the ps2 is supposed to line up in relation to the little hole you put it into.
Please help me!

It may seem crazy but simply putting some tape over the sensor inside the PS2 made mine work fine and i've never had a problem since then.

the part you are refering to is notoriously tricky and that is the only foolproof way. mention next time that you don't want to void your warranty slice57
