i have a slimline ps2 and went to put a fliptop on it but the metal bits that have screws in came out and i put dem back as best as i could and installed the flip top but it doesnt work because whenever i press at certain points it will make the disk stop spinning or restart it. does anyone know whats wrong and how i could fix this? or would it be worth sending it somewhere to get a mod chip installed (if poss in slimeline) would it be easier than using swap magic. i live in the uk

Just use the slide tool instead, it's easier.

the slim tools aren't anything like the slidecard for the fat ps2.. they're just the same as magic tools etc.. pieces that you put in the sensor holes etc to stop the slimline recognising that the lid is open.
@bcfcblues - just reinstall the fliptop and follow the instructions carefully to attatch the new lid.. then when you're playing backups, just let the lid rest on the bottom, don't force it closed as it could cause the piece of plastic on the lid that fits in a hole on the ps2 to come out..that opertaes the disc break... that's what happens on my bro's slim. If everything else is installed ok there shouldn't be any problems then.
good luck with it
