I got my phone restrictions removed (Many thanks to Crux and the unlock team that set that neat little program up) but now I am not really sure what capabilities this gives me. Can I use my phone I can talk and talk past what's remaining? For providers, manually, I showed I could pick AT&T, Cingular, or T-Mobile, but the only one that worked was T-Mobile, which is my original provider. If anyone can tell me what there is to gain by removing the restrictions, I'd sure love to hear it! I thought that even though it said the restrictions were removed, that I had done something wrong, so I did it again. All I got was the message saying that I already removed the restrictions. Maybe I am missing something, but I see no benefit, or info, on what I just did to my phone. Thanks for anyone's help in advance, that can help me with this...

Phone restrictions off should have been your message and if Cingular (activated) sim isn't working, it's not unlocked fully. Show me your IMEI and the code you used.

The IMEI # is: 010323005627231
The code I used is from the NokiaFree.Org Calculator. I based this code on a previous thread where a guy used the ASIC2 setting. It did tell me "Restrictions Removed", but after that, I have no idea what capabilities my phone now has...
Here is what I punched into my phone: #pw+204 005 337 252 402+1#

Can you tell me exactly what I have done for my phone? Do I still have to pay for pre-paid phone cards? Does the SIM card need to remain in it, or does this mean I can use any SIM card? Other thatn knowing I just removed restrictions from my phone, I have no idea what I did!!! With computers, I'm a regular genius... With cell phones, today is the first time I ever thought about trying to unlock one!

Thanks, and sorry for being stupid about this...

The code you have #pw+204005337252402+1# was correct and should have been entered with no sim in. Now you will need to use another sim but it will have to be activated with minutes on it or get a plan with another provider that has GSM 850/1900 MHz capabilities. 1900 MHz recommended and with it being T-Mobile, they put an extreme lock on the wap settings in all of the phones from them and it would have to be flashed with non customized firmware to remove that particular lock. Text messages will work fine but no internet with different providers. Nothing free for unlocking if that was what you were wondering. It should work fine with other activated sims that use the above frequency I mentioned.

Thanks for the info... I guess I was looking for some means of getting free airtime with my phone. I guess I could wish in one hand and crap in the other... See which fills faster, eh?!! It did seem to unlock some voice things which I never had before though... Or in the year I had my phone, I never saw them. Like an option for my own voice saying 'battery low' and one that has to do with having a low signal. Of all the times I messed with this thing, I NEVER remember seeing these options before. Whether they just became unlocked, or I never saw them, and they were always there, my palying around with this revealed them to me. Not like they're very helpful, but all in all, it's something new (to me) as a result...

Thanks for your time and effort with this. Are there any phones out there that free airtime could be gained with? or is that something going beyond what I should be asking in this forum?

Thanks,

Jim ("Daffron""

It's not going beyond asking in this forum but pretty much impossible. If there were a way to have free airtime, I would be on it in a minute but it's just not out there. I did see on one forum where one guy had a good idea of getting free airtime but this might not be up your alley. He would get in chat rooms and act like a girl and talk to guys and he would tell them that he/she would call them if they had the money for minutes and the guys would spend money buying them minutes for the phone number. I know this sounds far fetched but it happens everyday. Not nothing I would ever do. He would do this daily for about a month and have enough time on his phone to last for a few months and then start at it again.

Yeah, I'm sure that would probably work, but like you, I'm not gonna go that far either! It's pretty funny though! Thanks, and I appreciate the time you've spent answering my questions about the 6010
