Boot PS2 CD-Rs
1. Load up CogSwap Loader

When you are here, just do the CogSwap. "you know with the slide card"
Thats all...

Boot PS2 DVD±Rs
1. Load up CogSwap Loader

When you are here, Press "EJECT" to open the disk TRAY and place an ORIGINAL PS2 DVDROM Disk with a higher TOC than the DVD Backup, Press "EJECT" to close the TRAY.

2. Now wait about 10 - 20 sec., when it show this image:

Press "X" button ONCE.

3. When this image show up:

Make the CogSwap with the slide card, and place your Backup DVD±R and Press "X" once. and lets Play...
------------------------------------------------------------------
TOC = Table Of Content.
Lets say that the TOC is only the size of the game.
You need a equal or bigger game in TOC "size" to play a backup game.
If you have a smaller game in TOC than your backup, the game will go to a black screen, and never load up.
Just try a bigger TOC game.
------------------------------------------------------------------
I recommend Burn your Backups in DVD-R disks and in the slowest speed that you can.
------------------------------------------------------------------
I have the phat PS2, so a can't tell you how this works on the slim ver. I think is opening the PS2 and cover the sensors with some sticky tape. dont know this is another theme.

I like the guide. It's very detailed and the pictures are sure to help a lot of people with this. However, I was unable to play my backup copy of a PS2 CD game by just simply cog swaping at the very start, like your guide says. What games did you try it with and it worked?

Isaac27, If you want to try, you can put a ps2 cd game "not a dvd game" when it display "PS2 CD ROM" DON'T PRESS X HERE make the swap, place your ps2 cd backup "cd-r" and now press "X".

If any doubt, PM me!!

I tried that method already awhile ago with no luck. I wrote about it in this other thread: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/320076

I also tried the CDLoader method (which I talk about as well on that other thread) with no luck there either. I still have yet to figure out a way to load the PS2 CDs.

How do you burn your ps2 game?
I recommend you to not create an ISO for PS2 blue cd games, just make a copy of the game with the copy disk option in Nero.
Because I try to copy a couple of PS2 cd games creating an ISO and burn it to a cd, when I try to boot never boots. Try that and let me know if works, cuz i have a many PS2 cd-rs backup and cogswap load it well.

some PS2 cd-rs that I already use with cogswap:
Capcom Vs. SNK II
Marvel Vs. Capcom II
Xsquad
Winback 1
Contra Shattered Soldiers
and some more...
