Directors cut movies HELP!! anydvd, clonedvd.

Hi i just got a question for you guys, i use Anydvd and clondvd to backup my dvd's and when i tried the interpreter and saw 2 which had directors cuts it burnt the movie with the director talking through it and not the audio to the movie. Am i not ticking or ticking the wrong boxes or something or cant clonedvd burn directors cut movies?? any help will be appreciated thanx.

i did it with decrypter and shrink and it worked fine for me

i was reading in a previous post that it depends what audio you pick? which audio would be the directors cut?? it would be good if CloneDVD played sound as it shows u whats on the disc when u pick the file.

@hoekone, Using CloneDVD 2, just select what audio languages you need and uncheck the rest. You can uncheck Directors Comments too. There's a Great Guide to CloneDVD 2 here at afterdawn. Read it and if it helps you, print it out.

Select copy titles, not Clone Entire DVD. Unless you have a DVD that happens to be a single layer & will fit.

ok man ill try that guide and give it a go, i was using the first option copy entire dvd, ill try the other one and if that doesnt work ill go with DVD Decrypter. thanx for the help.
What if i ticked the box thats says keep menus and copy the whole thing without taking anything out? that should work hey? cause then i just pick from the menu to watch the movie and not the directors cuts.

With that guide bunnyrip i think it says u can listen to the audio before u burn is that right? just double clicking the title in the audio section? im not on my computer that has these programs on them at the moment to try.

The object is to get the Best Quality. The Compression needs to be as low as possible. If you copy the Entire DVD. You will be compressing it a lot in most cases. The quality bar shows your compression. Example: 100% = No Compression. This is Very good.
60% = 40% Compressed. Not very good. Therefore, unless you use a DVD+R DL disc (Dual Layer), you would be better off to copy title only. You may select Keep Menus, but keep in mind that a Lot of the stuff in the Menus won't be there. Me? I just back up the movie only and leave the menus out. When the back up is put in the player, the Movie Starts playing from the begining.

I understand what your saying man but is there anyway to listen to the audio in the audio section so i know which one is the directors cut and which one is the movie?? Because wouldnt they both be around the same length, so how would u know which one is the directors cut and which one the movie is?

The Director's Commentary audio sound track (it's not called a "cut") is almost always one of the AC3/2 two-channel tracks. Most new DVD releases have the main movie sound track in AC3/6 (5.1 sound) and the Director's Commentary will be one of the two channel tracks. With older movies or movies which don't have 5.1 sound tracks, it can be a little difficult to tell which one to select (I keep all tracks and split the movie for 1:1 quality).
In this case, play the movie first in PowerDVD player. Then choose the PowerDVD menu button that allows you to choose which soundtrack to play and find (by listening through the computer's speakers) the track you want to backup. Then note the order of the different soundtracks in PowerDVD's audio choice display ... they will display in the same order as CloneDVD displays them. Choose the track with the same corresponding order on your CloneDVD audio track selections page.
If you want to keep all soundtracks but the Commentary track plays in your player by default, it is because you did not choose "Preserve Menus" in CloneDVD. Many DVD originals are authored in a way that correct sound track player-defaults are "matrixed" through the menu structure via an authoring technique called "Video Manager". Without the keeping the menus, your player doesn't know what to choose as the sound track and defaults to the wrong track. If you are compressing (I don't compress), the menu only takes up a little bit of room.
