I would try updating the software. If you are sure you have the updated version, try running some sort of anti-spyware program. Ad-Aware is okay, but I would recommend Xoft Spy. There's a free scan, but you have to "buy" it to actually use it... Being a lime wire user I'm sure you could figure that one out by yourself.

Thanks for the post. I'm pretty sure I'm up to date with the latest limewire, but I haven't run a spyware check for a while, so I'll do that. With any luck all will be running again! Cheers

your better off just switching to bit torrent, its much cleaner and IMO you have a much wider selection, i only use limewire nowadays for the occasional song

Yeah I use bit torrents as well. But I find they are even more unreliable to be honest. Unless there are a billion people seeding 1 thing, it tends to be really slow. But a much better use of P2P idea, plus a much larger selection as you say! I've noticed the occasional person being knocked off there internet because of traced torrents which is a bit concerning for a majority of people!

Yeah I'm the same way, if I'm looking for a song, I'll use Limewire, but otherwise I stick with torrents, yeah they can be slow, but if you can find a well seeded file you want, it can pick up pretty quick... How is frostwire btw?? Anyone use it?

Got my hands on Frostwire this week and its sensational. Having a few similar problems with it shutting down like Limewire, but no where near as bad. Frostwire is actually much more efficient with downloads I find. It actaully attempts to use all of your capabilities and when surfing the net it deligates suffucient DL speed to that, unlike Limewire.

I tried out frostwire, and it seemed like just a blue version of limewire. I thought the little "mark junk" button was interesting. I starting downloading a couple new songs I heard on the radio, and 4/4 were corrupt junk files.. Since I switched to Limewire from Kazaa back in.. Maybe Novemebr, I have not dowloaded a corrupt mp3. I marked those songs junk, and switched back to limewire.. Downloaded the same songs.. fine. No corruptions.. Needless to say frostwire got "beleeted"

I used limewire for a while and it was ok. After a week or two it killed my laptop. when I started it running I would get the bsd and my computer would reboot.

Decided to delete it and was advised to use etomipro, which looked just like limewire to be fair. Exactly the same happened, a couple of weeks of use and then bsd and reboot.

Any ideas why this is? I asked there customer support and they didn't have much of a clue. It would be good to find out what was causing it so any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks
