I have burnt 45 dvds successfully, using

DVD Decryptor
DVD2One
Nero 5.5.9.0

I have just recently ran into some problems, when trying to burn movies over 2 and 1/2 hours long,

i.e Minority Report
Harry Potter 2

Only the last 5-10 minutes of the movie become choppy, the rest of the movie works fine. The last .vob file, when previewed before burning, shows choppiness, so i know it not the burner, or the burning software.

Any help would be appreciated.

I ran into the same problems with:

Minority Report
Signs
Black Hawk Down
Phantom Menace
Attack of the Clones

I solved these problems but not burning @ X2 even though I have the capabilities.
These problems I mentioned happened to me whilst using half decent blank media aswell.
TRAXDATA DVD-R.

Try burning @ X1 or if you were already then I'd suggest trying a better blank media.

WinXP Pro
AMD Athlon 900Mhz
80 + 40Gb HDD (7,200rpm)
Pioneer DVR DVD-RW 104 (f/w 1.31)
Lite-On DVD-Rom 165H x16 (f/w CH11)

Smartripper 2.41
DVD2One.v.1.1.1
Nero 5.5.9.9

Guys,

You are reaching the limits. Checkout the files size / movie time length. Foe "best" quality of these movies, consider splitting the movie, or using "high quality" DVD media.

Wrong track.

A compressed DVD will be compressed consistently along the tracks. In other words, it will be no more compressed at the end than in the middle or beginning.

Poor quality at the end is a result of one thing : poor media.

a very distant second is a Ferrari. Oops, didn't mean to say that, what I meant was, sometimes the software doesn't quite compress to 4.36, but a second pass will correct that.

For the record, I have done plenty of 2.5 hour movies, including a test on Scarface, which came out great.

Long live single DVD-R solutions :)

HomerJ : I love getting you wound up :) Seriously mate, just kidding, but I hate swapping discs, it is SOO VCD ;)

Paul

I'm back...

Definitely the high end media for me.

I DON'T do 2 Disc movies...apart from LOTR_Fellowship Of The Ring Ext Edition.

I stated in my previous post, that the choppiness shows up when i preview the last .vob file that is created with dvd decryptor, NOT WITH THE MEDIA i am using. This problem is showing up before the burn.

I am using 1x media, and it has worked flawless on the other 45 dvd's i have made.

Please Help

I have used Cineplayer, it was included with my dvd burner.

I only have problems, in the last .vob around 10 minutes left in the movies.

Also how big are the .VOB files after your compression with DVD2One ??

I'm presuming you've already authored the files you're trying to view ???

Im experiencing the same problem, I have a Sony DRU500 Recorder and I'm using DVD Decrypter, DVD2One and Nero to make my backups. The end of the movie get all chpppy when I burn a long movie. I also tried using DVDxCopy to split the movie in 2 CDs and I still get the same "choppiness" on the last chapter of both CD1 and CD2. Help please!
