Ok, i asked simliar question in newbie forum, wrong idea, got nothing as far as help.

Simply put, making dvd copies seinfeld season 4. 4 dvd's each has 7 episodes on, now since its a tv show its of importance to maintain menu functionality, i don't want all the extras but i need the menues to choice which episode to watch .. . what does everyoen else do with this situation and keeping premium quality on the dvd? Do you split each 1 dvd that includes 7 episodes into 2 dvd-5's?

Now if i was to combine 1 dvd into 2 dvd's clearly menu functionality would exist but only for certain episodes would it actualy work. . .

what does eveyrone else do for making copies of tv shows from dvd's

I use DVDRebuilder Pro. No need to split discs as the re-encoded product is excellent!!!

DVDrebuilderpro is very good, for most uses. For episodal disks, with a long run time, you will still get crud.

My opinion..split the disks onto 2 disks..lose the menu. Why compromise on quality when media is so cheap these days?

Just my 2 cents

are there any tutorials/guides on how to use dvd rebuilder out there?

also, Brian, about copying too 2 dvd's and losing menus, for tv shows i want to have the menu functionality so i dont' have to sit there and skip threw episode after episode and scene after scene if i wanted to watch the last episode on the disk.

Here is a guide for DVD RB free version.

http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=55302

I have used this and the quality for backups is excellent. You can also use AnyDVD and CloneDVD to backup, it will split your disks and you can preserve menus on both disks. You can also reauthor and preserve menus there is a 21 day free trial you can get it from

on episode DVDs I use DVDRemake and take out all unwanted stuff, then I adjust the menu and hide buttons for those 'extras' that I deleted and there you have it....... menu is the same for each episode and you cut down the DVD to just the episodes! Then use DVDRebuilder Pro with CCE and you're done!

and I vigorously disagree with Brian100 about

I get high quality out of DVD-RB with CCE! I did MOONLIGHTING, HOUSEWIVES, THE O.C. first and second season, HOUSE... and I'm sure more......all came out with great, high quality video!!! just my opinionAND...... as far are movies with long run times: SPARTACUS, BEN HUR, LORD OF THE RINGS for examples.... DVD-RB was made for that, to keep the video quality as high as possible for those long running movies!!!!

Ihoe

I agree that using DVDrecuilder (cce) is probably the best solution. I have had many episodal disks (red dwarf 1 -5) (The osbournes) that have been CRUD after running through the above combination. Even the best have limitations..
