Hi i'm new to this forum. My problem is Occassionally I have had to reinstall my operating system.(brother is a Networking student and wont leave the pc alone) The Problem is when i try to back up files I always lose my limewire music. I know i can drag across limewire files inti itunes but when i restore my back ups limewire music is gone. please could someone help me with this problem as it is a real pain. maybe there is way to save files in a different way. thanks

keep all of your songs inside of your ipod and download copypod so that you can copy songs from the ipod back to the computer. here is a link for copypod-- http://www.copypod.net/

You could always check my stickied guide at the top of the forums, which will show you how to easily move songs from your iPod to your PC either with or without third-party sotware.

The other reason your files are potentially disapearing is because you don't have iTunes set to 'compile your collection' if you do that it will copy all of your music to your iTunes music folder. I have no idea how to back up limewire or it's music and if that was really your question, or if you were backing up your iTunes folder and having your music added from Limewire disapearing.
