Burn speed?

I have a liteon burner and nero software and useing ridata 8x+r and when i load a disk it only gives me 2 speed options 8x or 6x does any one know what i need to do to get down to 2x.I can change it to 2x but once i load the disk it says 8x or 6x.

Hi
If you are backing up ps2 games the best software is DVD Decrypter, Mode ISO read Mode ISO Write, see if it will give you any better speed options, if not try changing your discs, i personally burn at x4 speed for games

if u want to burn at 4x you need 1-8x discs

if u want 2.4x you need 1-4x disc but good quality 1-4x disc are hard to find now cause most people want faster burning dvds and updating firmware doesnt do anything cause ive done all that

each manufacturer and each burner and each firmware is different so it doesnt neccessarily mean that if it didnt work for you it wont work for someone else, and beside changing firmware doesnt neccasarily give you more burning speed options although it sometimes does, it could make your burner more compatible to some discs and improve burning methods as well as unlocking allot of other things.
