alright, so i wanna use the notes feature on my ipod. when i try it in microsoft word, it didnt work, so i tried it in word pad. it worked, but sometimes, some computer code, or something i didnt type came up through out the notes. and plus, when i read the instuctions on the ipod, it says make sure the disc use is on or off or something. so can some one please tell me how to turn on/off disc use or w/e. and when i download notes from the internet like iBIble, my computer does not know what program it is. so can someone please tell me what the proper software for ipod notes is?

Hey smaan, welcome to our forums. You have to put the ipod into disk mode to do this. heres how to do it:
1. Before manually placing the iPod into Disk Mode you should verify that it has a charge, if not you need to either charge iPod before continuing or connect it to power. You can either connect it to a high-powered USB port, or plug the iPod Power Adapter into an electrical outlet and connect iPod to the power adapter.
2. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Set it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
3. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons for at least 6 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
4. When the Apple logo appears, release the Menu and Select buttons and immediately press and hold the Select and the Play/Pause buttons until the Disk Mode screen appears
Hope it works!

Use notepad to create your text documents, then just drag them into the `notes` folder of your iPod ;)

alright, thanks for the respoces. holy crap, putting it to disk mode KILLS the battery LOTS. i had half, know its in red, and i only have like a sliver of battery life left. what does disc mode do anyway? and lethal when i put it in word pad, it looks good, but then sometimes, a little bit of weird code comes on. weird. and plus, when i downloaded stuff off the internet, and that stuff is made for ipod notes, i cant open it on my computer. when i double click it, it says the program cant be opened, select on from a list or go on the internet to get one or something. so i guess i dont have a program that is made for notes maybe...
anyway, help would be much appreciated.

You have to use notepad to type files on your Windows computer and put them on your iPod. The file your talking about smaan may be an Apple file, which is why Windows isn't recongnizing it. Drag it into your iPod's notes folder, as Lethal suggested, and you might be able to view it. To get to your notes folder open up 'My Computer' Click on your iPod [it should be in disk mode, and will show up as a hardrive], and then your Notes folder should be there, just drag and drop into that folder and you should be set.

Than I honestly have no idea :) If you can view the text on the internet you could of course just copy and paste to notepad, save it then move it on.
