Hi, anyone know where I can get Tayo Yudin TYGO2 discs in the uk in smaller amounts than 100? I only need about 25 and all I can find is Tubs of 100 at £30 or more at SVP etc. Any help would be great.
Cheers

If you can't afford the Taiyo yudens from SVP, get the verbatim 8x DVD-R which are made by taiyo yuden anyway (TYG02) for around £6.70 + postage for 25 pack... http://svp.co.uk/products-solo.php?pid=221
they're out of stock at the moment, but usually doesn't take too long to get more in... the discs are awesome, and I can actually burn at 12x on these 8x discs with my NEC burner.. although I wouldn't use that speed for games.. just data.

Hope that helps

Hi, I did try Verbatim from here DVD-R-25-Retail-Tub-pr-18009.html" class="korostus" target="_blank">http://www.ukdvdr.co.uk/shop/Verbatim-8x-DVD-R-25-Retail-Tub-pr-1... and had no luck with burning PS2 games. They look the same as the svp ones but have a reorder code of 43475 not 43553 as on the svp ones. Does that mean they are not the same? I'm getting really frustrated with doing PS" back ups cos after an initial success I can't get anything to burn. I'm using DVDDecrypter and burning at 1x etc but I only get a blank screen!

Maturity begins when you realise the volume knob also turns to the left!!

a few other things to try, other than getting good media.
Now Taiyo Yudens are said to be the very best but just so you know what works for someone else may not always work for you. Everyone's PS2 and burners work slightly different. I suggest buying DVD's in small pack sizes untill you find one that works every time for you.

Also check the web and see if your burner has any firmware updates available and if so then update it. This will help greatlt with media compatibility and burn quality.
If the burner is a year old or more you can also get a laser lens cleaner disc and run that to clean the laser which can help.
The best way to see if the Verbatims are the same as what Paddy is talking about is to take one, get a program for your PC that will give you DVD media codes, and stick in a blank disc. This will tell you the media code of the DVD which will tell you who makes it and what quality it is with a little research. That is really the only way to tell since so many companies have their DVD's made by various manufacturers. So even the same brand can be a different quality of DVD.
