I had limewire pro for awhile now and i was told that there was a new version of limewire and i decided to download it. After i downloaded it, my limewire stopped working. It wud start and open nicely but it would not connect to the internet.. I am not sure why and i looked at some other similar links that help but i tried fixong my firewall and thingy and now my limewire wont work. My problem is connecting and i already disabled my firewalls to see if that wud work but it still wouldn't connect. If anyone can help me...( and pleez show me step by step, like which buttons and programs to click because i was told to do this and that and i was like huh??) Anyone, anyone....
I cant fix your problem but can give some advice. I read limewire is being monitored now for illegal file sharing. so theres a limewire alternative called frostwire. its at frostwire.com it looks just like limewire except it has a new name. And if you choose to get a entirely new P2P client altogether I highly recommend shareaza (NOT kazaa) its viewable at shareaza.com and it connects to the Gnutella network, Gnutella 2 network, and eDonkey/ed2k network.
I forgot to add shareaza is 100% clean and im pretty sure frostwire si too since it is a derivative of limewire. and possibly any spyware tools you have installed say a P2P app runnign and shut it down.
4.10.5 is the lasts. It works for me. I just download and use Forstwire and scan for spyware, there's none. some how LIMEwire has spywares. Limewire closed faster. However, The download time sucks, take long to download.
