Alright so I recently dled the NTSC version (its legit) of this game. Extracted and burned it with alcohol 120% at 4x (half my max speed), it won't work. It seems to load alright but after the PS2 logo come up the game just has a blackscreen. Retried with DVD Decrypter with the patch thats out for pal and ntsc again it won't work same problem takes me to a black screen. Anyone know what the deal is? It can't be a bad burn cause I tried twice and normally it have no problems like this, I have yet to rebuild the same (some ppl say it not recommended)? What should I do, don't wanna waste anymore dvds. Oh and I also have a modchip not swap magic.

What's the Media ID of the discs you're using?

91. Q. What is the Media ID of a DVD and how can I find it?
A.The Media ID of a DVD is the true measure of it's quality. It contains prerecorded info about the disc's manufacturer. The quality of the disc will vary depending on the media code. The media code isn't visible on the disc or the packaging. To check the media ID, Open DVD Decrypter, insert your disc, and check what it says under Media ID or Manufacturer ID. You can also use a program called DVD Identifier which is very useful. You can find it here: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_tools/dvd_id...
Compare the Media ID to this link: http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm

Either get some better media like Taiyo Yuden's or Verbatim, or try rebuilding.

11. Q. How Do I rebuild games?
A. With Nero and Isobuster (works as long as no single file is over 2 GB's): http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/197949
With CD/DVDGen: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/210515
With Expert (Gnie's new rebuilding tool):
Gnie's PS2 Auto Rebuilder Tool Download (Thanks to 3DLuis):
http://www.alucard.cc/ps2/ExPERT_v1.03.rar
Instructions to Gnie's Tool ExPERT From Paddymail:

Here's how to use it.. it might not work for all games though.

Open the program.

1. Select the Shrinker_ps2_psp_CdDvd5_iso.epi on the plugins drop down list.
2. Select the iso you want to rebuild.
3. Click extract LBA.
4. Click extract file and wait for it to finish.
5. Click rebuild file and wait for it to finish.
6. Click rebuild LBA.
7. Burn the new iso with Nero or DVD Decrypter as usual.

Before I proceed to rebuild can anyone tell me any info about modchips this game works with? I heard somewhere that some modchips are not compatible with this game, please confirm this for me. I have wasted 3 dvds already..Thanks.

hey ya'll, i have a question that needs to be addressed. i revently tried burning a game (fifa street 2) with 3 different programs; Nero, Alcohol 120%, and DVD Decrypter and i have had no luck.

i mean all three programs copy the image fine and also burn them fine also, but when i put the game into my ps2 (swap magic 3 with flip top) the screen just stays black. also when i look at the dvd disc i just burnt i only see a very little bit of written data, not the whole thing. anyone know what i'm doing wrong please help. thank u.

Yeah we need somebody who knows what they're doing to download the game and see what chips it works with. Most of the posts I've read concerning this game aren't from knowledgeable users. Some say you to need to patch it with Swap Magic, other's don't. Some say it works with certain chips, others don't. Maybe I'll download it and see how it works with the Matrix Infinity.

Well I rebuilt it and still it doesn't work (same blackscreen). Tried burning with patch/without patch switedhed between DDecrypter and alcohol120%, even rebuilt. I come to a conclusion that it must be my modchip

I'm downloading it now, slow speeds so it may not be done until tomorrow. I'm downloading the PAL version, so I'll report back if it works with my Matrix Infinity.

I downloaded the PAL version. I burned it to Taiyo Yuden 8x DVD-R's (TYGO2) at 4x with ImgBurn. I set my screen fix to NTSC and the position to -10. It plays perfectly with my Matrix Infinity. No freezing, black screens, or anything. I didn't patch the iso at all. So the PAL Version does work on an NTSC PS2 modded with a legit Matrix Infinity. It may not be much, but it's a start. Hopefully you guys can work from there and figure out what's what. On a side note, I detest Soccer, but it's a pretty fun game. Cheers!

Two things: 1. Get some better media. RitekG05 is no longer adequate for PS2 games. Pick up some Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim's. 2. Your TV doesn't have to support NTSC, Swap Magic or a modchip can force the signal to PAL. A modchip's screen fix is almost perfect, Swap Magic's may still appear off center or in black and white. Are you using Swap Magic or a modchip?

Alright..just curious been hearing alot about Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim which one is the better overall? And when a dvd is listed as 8x speed does it only support 2x,4x,6x or just 8x itself.I plan on getting some, just need a lil info

Taiyo Yuden is a little better overall. There are die hard Verb backers, but from my experience, TY's are a little better, especially the DVD-R's. They're pretty similar as far as DVD+R's. I used Verbs, still had to rebuild games when I first started burning PS2 games, same with RitekG05. I recommend Taiyo Yuden's. It may not alleviate the problems with this game (still unclear if does/doesn't need patched with Swap Magic), but it'll save your PS2 laser some wear and tear. You'll save yourself some headaches down the road. How fast you can burn certain media depends on your firmware/burner, but you'll want to burn at 4x on the 8x TY discs. You may get better results at other speeds, but 4x is a good place to start.

Okay first off, if you have a modchip that supports a Y fix, then you can force the game into NTSC, it doesn't matter what your TV supports. Second off, I'm trying to help you, so ease off the attitude a little. What modchip do you have? It may force video mode. If not you can try patching with Ard patcher or PAL2NTSC patcher with Y fix.

37. Q. I downloaded a PAL game, how do I convert it to NTSC?
A. Use Adrenaline patcher if it's an EA game: http://www.megagames.com/ps2/ps2_utils_files.shtml#ADRenalin%20Patcher Note: I've been told this works for non EA games as well. The screen won't be perfectly centered, unless you have a modchip that forces video mode.
Or patch with PAL2NTSC patcher with Y fix for non EA games: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/121718

There is a alternate way with CogSwap Loader. If you search, you'd probally find it.

PS2 Slimline + Swap Magic + Fan
PS3 60gb Version 1.90
PSP 3.52 M33 EUR Black Version + Logitech Hard Case + Logitech 3 Sound Speakers + 2gb Sony Memory Stick
Nintendo Wii + 3 Wii&Nunchuck Controllers
NDS Original + M3 Simply + 1gb Kingston MicroSD
NDS Lite + M3 Simply + 2gb Sandisk MicroSD

Gnie confirmed this game works with any modchip. Only Swap Magic users need to patch it. I still think you're misunderstanding me. Do you know what chip you have?

The only way to find out what chip you have is to contact the people who installed it or open up your PS2 which I do not recommend. Your chip may not support a built in Y fix, only the high end chips do. Just because it supports games from any region, doesn't mean it supports a Y fix. When you boot up your PS2, do you see anything like Matrix or Toxic OS?
