How do I upload music so it can be downloaded from limewire

I got a friend who does his own rap music out of his own personal small time record label. He wants to upload his music so a few songs can be downloaded onto limewire or other file sharing software. He feels a few songs being freely downloaded will help get his music out there. How do I upload his music so it can be downloaded from limewire? Please Help.

You don't upload to per say, to Limewire.

To share files on the limewire network all you do is put the files in you shared folder.

In your shared folder they will become public provided somebody does a search for them and downloads them.

So, here a problem arises because if it is unknown material, nobody is likely to download them from you, or you uploading them to you.

Thanks I got it now. As of the thing for people not downloading it b/c they ain't never heard of him. Well he has a myspace page and his own website. He also has a fan newsletter he sends out to people who join the mailing list. so he is tryin to get his name out and tryin to catch a buzz in the street. He thought that maybe if he offered a few songs for download they would hear him and become a fan. But thanks for the help. You answered my question 100%.

Great, then let the people he knows that if they "Search" those titles on the Limewire network, as long as there are matches, assuming your computer is on and available then they could download them from U, and you'd be uploading to them!!

Better yet, get into torrents, and host the torrents on a hosting torrent site, and all he'd have to do is tell or advertise what torrent site his material is available at.

Exposure is a good thing in the music industry getting started, and this idea you have makes it somewhat of an IRONY.

Most artists can't stand people getting thier music at the click of a mouse, and your're giving it away!
