Hey
I have been doing some quick research on the best way to go for using DVD-R or CD-Rs on my PS2. I would like to back some of my games up but I cant decide which method is best. I really dont want to solder anything and I heard conflicting results from both the SLIDE CARD and the FLIP TOP methods. I would like to know is the FLIP TOP really the best way to go for the VERSION 4-7 PS2 and if so does it still work on todays games. Im sure its really easy to take screws out and put the new cover on as long as you dont pinch that ribbon. But is there an easier way. If not just let me know and what to expect If I get the FLIPTOP thanks..and IS consolesource the best place? Thanks again

if you don't have the ability to install a chip, pay a pro to do it for you (teammodders is a reputable site). a chip is the only way to go when it comes to backups. no game rebuilding and no swapping.

your $$$ ahead to get the chip. i recommend the DMS4 Pro SE to all my customers and with over 300 PS2 mods I've never had a complaint.

I agree, Swap Magic will work but has too many draw backs.
Like having to rebuild games, take out dummy files, screen cut off with games from other regions, swapping and all that.

The mod chip is the best choice. It will cost a little more up front but in the long run will actually save you money.
The good chips (DMS4 Pro & Matrix Infinity) have free flash upgrades.
That means that they update the chip 1-2 times a year with new features and fixes. Swap magic updates means buying a new set of discs.
