You might be just as good getting a Pentium with HT technolgy. Word has it that the hyperthreading technolgy is essentially a second processor...in a sence. I read that at PCWorld.com. Tried to find the article for you, but I couldn't.

Resistance is futile! You will be assimilated!

Windows XP Media Center Edition, Pentium 4 3GHz w/ HT Technolgy / (1) 200 GB Internal SATA Hard Drive and (1) Western Digital Caviar 400GB Internal SATA Hard Drive,
2GB DDR 333MHZ / RADEON X700 PRO 256 MB PCI Express Graphics Card / 1 Westinghouse 19-Inch LCD Monitor
Logitech X-531 5.1 Speaker System

1 MacBook Pro 15-inch Widescreen with a 2.16GHz Intel Core Due Processor

Well as long as it gives me more speed and more power, I don't care what it has in it.

I have an intel P4 3.2 with HT and what it does is do two instructions at once so i guess if you have the dual core with HT it would do 4 instructions at once and that is super fast

If you want to build a cheap and I mean cheap Dual core computer buy the Pentium D 805. It's only $140 on newegg. It only has a FSB of 533 and runs at 2.66 ghz but sopposedly people have got them up to 3.7 ghz.
