I recently used DVD shrink to rip X-men to my hard drive as an .iso file. I have DVD shrink set up to then have tried both DVD decrypter and ICOPYDVDS2 to burn this .iso image to my DVD-R disc for me. The ripping process went fine, but then when I went to start burning, I got an error right when it first started. I have posted the .log file from ICOPYDVDS2 below if that could help somebody figure out what I am doing wrong here. Also, I am using a NEC ND6500A burner on a P4 Windows XP computer with 2GB of RAM. The blank media I am trying to burn to is FUJI 16X DVD-r.

If anybody can help me here, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

I just updated my firmware from Dell's website, as the one from NEC's site would not work since burner is OEM I guess. I tried to run it through DVD Shrink and DVD Encrypter again and got an "I/O Error, incompatible format error again". Does this mean that the most up to date firmare version for my burner will not support this media type?

Thanks for any help.

you can try to use DVDDecrypter in File mode instead of ISO! then use Shrink and burn with favorite software! try Nero for burning! Your media isn't the greatest but it should work..... manufacturers ID is ProdiscF02--which is second rate but not too bad at all to use. Your information about why it can't write says wrong Incompatible format if your newest firmware is 203D as shown here: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_result.php?kaj=1&isces
download and install it... if you don't already have it! then try again and see if it helps.

this said about your firmware from VideoHelp.com:

UPDATE:

After upgrading my firmware from 2.02C to 2.03D, the Dynex DL discs (RITEK...D01) worked fine.

Flashing the firmware was faster and easier than I expected. I made sure to back up the 2.02C with BinFlash before running the 2.03D GUI/wizard.

do it and you should be able to write to those Fuji (Prodiscs) DVDs.

Also if you are feeling frisky, here are some modified firmwares for your NEC, which remove riplock and allow bitsetting.

Ya, I thought of doing that, but I was afraid to screw something up and render my burner useless. Also, it is my work computer so that makes a little more risky to try to do something like that when it is for personal reasons. Unless.....somebody can let me know if they have had similar problems and one of those firmware updates fixed the problem. I'll probably just return the FUJI discs and get some different ones.

A bad flash can ruin a drive, so go another route until there are no other options. I use hacked firmware from this site and it is reliable, however, we do not share the same drive or problems.

Try ripping to HDD first using DVDFab Decrypter, then DVD Shrink and burn with DVD Decrypter.
