Winrar encoding error

Why am I getting this when I try to unpack certain winrar files from newsgroups? I have dl all the parts and because of this error I'm unable to burn the iso, because it won't open. It says that one of the winrar files has an encoding error and I wondered what this is and how to correct this. Ex. MLB 06 from alt.binaries.cdimage.dvd.iso. anyone else have this problem? Usually newsgroups are a sure bet, but I've been running into this alot lately.

Also, anyone encounter a winrar that is encrypted with a password? what to do about this?

Try to extract it with this 7 Zip program. I ran into the same problem and this is what resolved it.

Ahhh sorry yeah im not sure about the password encryption. I'll look into it though. I was getting errors when I tried to extract ISOs. The volume was 100% complete, no missing parts ar anything but I was still getting the error with WinRAR, winace, WinZIP, etc. Zip7 extracted with no errors.

do you get CRC error-file damaged/corrupt messages and does 7-zip work with this? I get this error a lot and all files are present. I thought I tried 7 zip with this and it didn't work

@ wesrock,you should use quickpar to check and repair rar files from newsgroups
you should get a bunch of par files

read through this,and concentrate on the bit about par files
