I got this response from DVDxCopy Moderator:

"for the small amount of hard drive space you are loosing could be anything. Go over to the main forums at afterdawn.com and ask about programs that will free up that space that was taken up by useless files. These forums are just for xcopy programs. "\

for the issue I brought up:

"Bought DVDXCopy 3.2.1.0 in 2004 and upgraded it to 4.0.3.8 (thru afterdawn link) and been using it since. I know it deletes automatically the temporary files copied to the hard drive after backing it up. However, overtime, it looks like there are some temporary files not being deleted.

I started with 32.2 GB available memory and now I am down to 30.1 GB? What files ate up the 2.1 GB? The missing memory creeped up slowly by 0.1 or .02 GB. I started with 32.2 GB memory available. After a while, it would be 32.0, then 29.9, etc. I keep checking the folder that was created temporarily and it has been erased. I emptied the Recyle Bin. And I am positive that I have not used any of the available memory for any new files or made any more downloads. I have been careful about this since I have been monitoring the memory available since I notice this problem.

Have you experienced this problem? If so, can you tell me the step by step process to "clean-up" these unwanted files from DVDxCopy? Thank you."

Can someone help?

right, the way i do it is click on the hard drive in my computer, right click it, go to properties, click on disk clean up, depending on how long its been it could take a while, then u can delete the files, hopefully this will work. May also be worthwhile to disk defrag, windows runs a basic one, follow as a bove but instead of clicking disk cleanup clike tools, and disk defragment.

You can manually set SR to use up whatever disk space you want, by lowering the amount of restore points it creates.

System Restore: (info) http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/helpandsupport/learnmore...

To change setting go to: START -> ALL PROGRAMS -> ACCESSORIES -> SYSTEM TOOLS -> SYSTEM RESTORE and click on System Restore Settings.
You can click on "Turn off System Restore for all drives" to delete previous saved settings. Only do this if you know your computer is in "good" condition. You can turn it back on by going to: START -> ALL PROGRAMS -> ACCESSORIES -> SYSTEM TOOLS -> SYSTEM RESTORE.
Hope this help.
