I wonder if anyone can help. I purchased a PC of a guy from work. It stated it had a 2.05Ghz Athlon XP 2800 Processor. I got the machine home and it all worked fine except for it saying when I booted it up that the processor was 1.25Ghz. I then spoke to a friend of mine who said I need to up the CPU Frequency in the bios settings, so that is what I did. I then rebotted and straight away the monitor said check cable connection and there was no picture. I then spoke to the guy at work who said I should reset the CMOS. The motherboard is a MSI K7N2 Delta2-LSR. Now the manual says I need to move a jumper from 1 - 2 to 2 - 3. I need to short jumper 2 - 3 and this will reset the CMOs (I don't no how to short these?). I did try various things like moving this while the machine was off, then turning the mahine on and leraving it for a bit, but nothing worked still displayed check connection on the monitor. Now I haven't tried another monitor cable yet, and I don't think it could be the graphics card. Does anyone have an other idea as to what it could be.....?

Please please help if you can.

Cheers

Try taking the battery out of the motherboard leave out for a couple of mins, this should reset the cmos.

Also, try removing and reseating the memory, hard drive camble, the processsor and heat sing, video card, pci cards, ect and all the external plugs and points. Just out of interest how much did u pay for the pc?

Hi mate, Thank you for the help, haven't tried it yet. Will try when I get home tonight. I did try leaving the battery out last night but I only left it out for about a minute, I guess that ain't long enough. Have you ever heard of a problem like this before? And if your advice don't work it has to be either the graphics card or the Cable right???

AAAAAAAArrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr........This is doing my head in now. OK, I have tried everything in my knowledge to get this working.....I have tried resetting using the jumpers, still no picture! Tried resetting by taking the battery out, still no picture! I have unplugged everything, still no picture! I have tried another AGP graphics card, still no picture! So I thought it must be the cable. So I managed to get hold of another monitor. Now on my monitor I just get a message that states 'Check Cable Connection'. When I tried another lead it stated 'No Signal'. I then tried another monitor, with the second cable and again no signal.

What are my options now people, any ideas cos it's doing my head in!!!

Thank you for any help or advice given.
