Is there another name for this besides Taiyo Yuden?? Ive searched bestbuy...frys...and no listing of Taiyo Yuden exists!! Yet if I search the internet..I get ALL kinds of sites from people who sell them over the internet!!! The problem is...I heard ALOT of rumors about people making fakes of this brand...and I want to go to a store here in the USA and buy them..and if they turn out to be fakes...I can simply return them IN PERSON and have them rectify the matter. BUT on the internet if I buy them from some individual who is selling fakes...I LOSE!! NO REFUND...someone please help me find a store that sells these disk here in the US...or if they can only be bought online ...can you PLEASE give me a link to a very REPUTAPABLE site that sells them and WONT sell me these fakes??

Most Taiyo Yuden fakes are on the internet from shady sites. If you know what to look for, there's almost no chance of getting fakes. Fuji MIJ DVD+R's/DVD-R's could code out as TY's. Authentic Taiyo Yuden media will always be made in Japan. Your best bet is Sony's. Sony 8x DVD+R's MIJ are gaurunteed to code out as Yuden000T02. Sony 8x DVD-R's made in Japan can be identifed according to what shape the spacer (piece of styrofoam on top of spinde) is on top. If the spacer is ocatagonal it's Taiyo Yuden-TYG02. If it's circular it's Sony 0xD1 media code. Sony media is decent, but you want TY's if you can get them. I found Taiyo Yuden DVD-R's at my local Wal-Mart, but it was kinda luck. Aside from being MIJ, I didn't know about the spacer deal. I found Sony MIJ TY DVD+R's at K-Mart. With those I knew they'd be TY's. Check local stores for Fuji/Sony MIJ branded discs, those are the best bets to get TY's. The only place to get TY unbranded discs is online. No store carries Taiyo Yuden name brand, it'll be under a big companies name.

Well Tokijin...either you dont remeber me or you have had a change of heart. Hopefully its the later of the two. So..if thats the case, I want to burry the hatchet with you once and for all. Im not some little kid, I'm 29 and I am extremely computer literate with HTML programming knowledge. Im all into software piracy and I know how to use the search button. :-) Ive been doing this for probably around the neighborhood of 5 years now..and its how I make my living. (wink)I apologise to you for my reaction to what you said in another thread..Im sure you know the one. And yes I watch Dora the explorer cause my 5 year old little girl LOVES it...:-)I also want to thank you for responding and informing me about the Taiyo Yuden media. I wasnt aware that other "big name" like Sony were made with TY coding...you stated this...."""Your best bet is Sony's. Sony 8x DVD+R's MIJ are gaurunteed to code out as Yuden000T02"""" I take it MIJ stands for MADE IN JAPAN??? And how do I reconize the code to be Yuden000T02?? Does it actually say that on the spindle somewhere??? And one last question...If I go to best Buy and look at sony and Fugi and it says its made in Japan..thats a real TY in disguise??? ALWAYS?? As long as its made in Japan?? Again THANKS for offering your assistance and I hope we have burried the hatchet.
