First problem: Memorex discs. Just search the term Memorex on this site and you'll see the horror stories. Stick to Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden or other MIJ media.

Secondly, I'll admit right away that I'm not into the downloading movies part (partly because it is illegal and you might run into some trouble here--if I'm not mistaken), but the file itself could be the reason it is not playing. Maybe it's corrupt or there is something wrong with it.

Thirdly, it could be the player. Go to videohelp.com and on the left side, look for DVD Players, and look up your player, and see what's compatible with it.

like Mr_Pink has pointed out......files could be corrupted ...... but more likely are those crappy media discs used! Memorex=MEMOSUX! Stay away from them! Try to get your money back if possible! Also a good habit to do is to burn at 4x to avoid those reading errors! DivXtoDVD is the old version of ConvetXtoDVD! get it updated and you'll notice increase in speed while converting! And it does so much more. if you want to read more about stuff this is a great thread to thumb threw: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/183136

I totally agree that the memorex media is probably foremost the problem. Try burning them at 2.4x. If your drive is capable booktype your DVD+R media to dvd-rom.

Hey,

Too bad we can't booktype them to DVD-Rhum and enjoy ourselves :)

The sad part of all this, I have seen Memosux media, cost more than some Taiyo Yuden I have bought, that's the scary part !
