White Noise, Humming, RF Noise? Help!

We just bought the Phillips 37" LCD at Costco. In HD, it's like looking out the window - fabulous! But, there is occassional humming, which I have heard referred to as white noise or RF noise. Can anyone make a suggestion that could help. Please keep it in low-tech terminology, if possible.
