If the 'Charging' Icon is up, (or the battery life indicator in the top-right corner signifies that it's charging), then it is charging. Otherwise, it isn't.

The 60gb model takes 4 hours, and the 30gb takes three. But they are just guidelines.

It also has to be considered that a 2 hour 'fast charge' restores 80% of the full battery life within two hours..

You can get your battery replaced if it is defective. That should be free if you are under warranty.

I don't really understand what you mean. Just wait until your battery dies/won't charge before you consider getting it replaced.

I guess what they mean by that is that they'll test it and if the performance level is only at 50% of what it should be, then they'll replace it for you :-)

Is there actually anything wrong with your iPod's battery? If so, what?

If you think your iPod's battery may be faulty, then send it off for a check-up.

No, you dont need to delete your songs, no usealy when you get your battery replaced Apple replace the battery and case so you have a new case that isnt scratched and a new battery! Be sure you have all your music in iTunes because somethimes like 60% of the time Apple will just give you a new iPod!

If an iPod has a fault with the battery, they won't replace the whole unit, they'll just put a new battery in.

They don't give out brand new units when all they have to do is replace a perfectly working iPod with a £10 lithium-ion battery -- that wouldn't make good business sense -- something which Apple have in abundance.

Well, once again, you have to be careful with how you say things in the forums. Just because your local store replaces them, doesn't mean it's Apple policy..

It is extremely unlikely that you will be shipped a brand new iPod if you send it to iPod for battery replacement.

Well I am sorry, this is a Apple store, I figured that all Apple stores do things the same! Why dose it matter I was just trying to tell him that sometimes they ill just give you a new iPod so he batter have his music backed up! I do know of 2 other Apple stores here in the sates do this exactly like the way the Downtown Portland one dose! The Tacoma and Bridge Port Village so therefore I figure it is done this way everywhere in the states, and like I said, I don?t know about the UK they do things differently, and I didn?t say that if you sent it to Apple I said if you take it to an Apple store!

Please, if you are posting, post correct technical information, as I have noticed some of the info you have given is somewhat misleading.

Buddy, I am not trying to have a go at you (I am not like that at all ;), but I like to see information being posted accurately, and not misleadingly. Please, don't take it personally ;-)
