I never experienced this problem.
Is the CD protected? (scan it with ClonyXXL).

Ah, read this info:

The CPTWG protection
The RIAA website news archive mentions a protection system devloped by them and the CPTWG in 1997 (http://www.riaa.com/News_Story.cfm?id=214). It looks like its based on a do-not-copy flag. The scheme failed because it only works if recorders recognise the flag. As long as even a single unprotected recorder is available there will be piracy, and there was no way to force manufacturers to use the system like the CPSA system now does. The system was never implimented, but it looks like a firmware hack would have defeated it anyway. When using nero to copy a commercial CD I notice it displays a "CD is copyrighted" warning, but copies anyway. I suspect that may be the flag, which nero displays but does not obey.

Nope havent run into that problem either and Im using the newest version of Nero actually the Entrprise edition of Nero. As stated in one of the other replies, copyright protected discs have to be recognized as such by the drive in order for the protection to werk anyway.. I dont think its Nero thats giving you the problem, your drive might be one of those drives that does support and utilize the copyright protection scheme. Try using CloneCD or Alcohol 120%, either program will copy just about anything. Also, have you tried ripping the tracks to MP3 first then recording the disc? Or making an image of the disc? copyprotection isnt too bright when your not copying the disc directly
