I have had over 600 sucessful burns with the same I/O magic drive. I have not changed anything except for the occasional update of software. I have never had a TY turn into a coaster after 600 of them until now. At first I thought it might have been the pack I just opened but I had a few left from another pack and had a couple coasters. Now I have 6 coasters in a weekend, I need another brain to ponder possible solutions. These were done with Shrink using Nero on different movies some compressed some not, some ran through DVDFab or Decrypter first.

Well it might b the end of its life span... mainly a DVD burner does 500 soo u have done well wat kinda errors are u gettin just too make sure....

Post a Nero log of a coaster burn please...Power Calibration Error could be a sign your drive is on it's last leg.

Well I think its that your drive its on your last leg, It did happen to mine 3 days ago :'( but before I opened his tomb I did try a few things, to discard other problems until you do them you should not discard your drive so you can try:

1. Changing the IDE cable (sometimes the loose their ability to transmit data)
2. Make sure you dont have installed any DVD copy protection program that can interfere with your normal burning (Starforce, that comes in some games like Splinter cell)
3.Try to reinstall (not format) windows to see if there was any driver file that was corrupted.
4. Try reinstalling Nero.
5. A firmware Update would help.
6. Use those cleaning Lens CDs, to clean your lens.

If all else fails try giving out to warranty, if its out of warranty B/L :(

My experience: My sony DRU-710A failed after 1 year of extreme over-usage plus 1000 burns/rips the lens have loose it gain ability, So know Ill have to buy a new burner. :(
