Hi

We are having problems gettingmy router DG834 to forward ports to DC++

We have followed the instructions to the letter from portforward.com set up a static ip, set up the services and rules. however when we search in DC, we only get about 6-12 results for some test searches that we know there are hundreds of results for. Its the same few users that we get results from each time. Also tried passive in DC and get the same.

Also set up azureus and that works fine - its only DC++ we have having problems with - anyone have any ideas?

Emma

Are you sharing more than 3 upload slots? Some hubs don't allow you to share less than that. You also need to have an okay upload speed as well.

Did you also set up the proper ports for UDP inside DC++ and the router?

What version of DC++ are you running? You should stick with the newest versions unless you're having problems with them.

Are you putting the proper IP address into DC++? The one you normally see for your machine isn't the one to put in there. You need to use the public IP that you get when your port-forward. If you don't know where to get it, try going to a hub in DC++ and see if it can get you that IP, or go to http://www.grc.com and go to the ShieldsUP! link.

The hub settings etc havent changed since before we had the router - it worked fine till then.

The port numbers match both in DC and the router settings - have also followed instructions on this site to the letter - got azureus to work no probs - its just dc for some reason

We have tried both the latest version and an old .306 version still had installer for.

Yes - that is the IP we are using in DC

Really tearing hair out now.

Hmmm... I can't think of anything else to do that might help you. Try updating the motherboard or NIC drivers if needed.

The only thing I can think of is to point you to the IRC chatroom we have here.

Just go to http://adbuddies.ccsau.com/chat/ and sign-in for more help. You can use another IRC program by going the the Stormchat server at irc.stormchat.org and going the the channel #ad_buddies.

Sorry I can't be of any more help.

Hi Emma, I had the exact same problem with my DG834 (v2) router whereby DC++ would only bring up a few search results (other similar programs worked fine). I updated the firmware to the new version 3 from Netgear's website and that fixed it for me.

You can find it here:
