i dont think this games needs a patch.Even though verbatim is a really good make it still is not compatuble with dvd discs i would try other ones such as sony or maxell cause if verbatim dont burn properly i doubt taiyo yuden will since verbatim entrusted taiyo yuden to make the dye for the discs and even if u do get taiyo yuden u will probably have to buy online and wait ages to get them and they will probably get lost unless u do 1st class recorded mail or something.Hope i helped.

Verb TY's are only available in the UK, Japan, and a couple other places. Most Verb's use MCC (Mitsubishi Chemcial) dye, which is almost as good. Are they 16x Verb's? I've read that 16x Verb's cause the PS2 laser some issues. Get some quality 4x or 8x media. If that fails then try rebuilding.

Well I have it on good authority that 16x Verb media doesn't agree with the PS2. 16x media in general can give mixed results, so I don't recommend it. Try rebuilding the game. If that doesn't work, try some 4x or 8x Verb's or Taiyo Yuden.
10. Q. What does rebuilding an iso mean?
A. It means that some games 4.36-4.38GB's may need rebuilt to work with Swap Magic. This isn't true for ALL games over 4.38GB's and differs on a game to game basis. The main purpose of rebuilding is to shrink the game's Table of Contents (TOC-the size of the game) in order to boot it with Swap Magic. The TOC for the Swap Magic DVD is around 4.37GB's. There is no need to rebuild games if you have a modchip. Another purpose of rebuilding is to make games run smoother. Usually the size of the game after rebuilding is smaller, but not always. Some games have dummy files used to beef up the TOC and help them run more smoothly. A good way to lower the game's TOC is to overwrite a large dummy file. If you are having trouble getting a backup to boot, and you're sure the media isn't the problem, try rebuilding the game.
11. Q. How Do I rebuild games?
A. With Nero and Isobuster (works as long as no single file is over 2 GB's): http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/197949 With CD/DVDGen: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/210515 With Expert (Gnie's new rebuilding tool):
Gnie's PS2 Auto Rebuilder Tool Download (Thanks to 3DLuis):
http://www.alucard.cc/ps2/ExPERT_v1.03.rar
Instructions to Gnie's Tool ExPERT From Paddymail:
Here's how to use it.. it might not work for all games though.
Open the program.
1. Select the Shrinker_ps2_psp_CdDvd5_iso.epi on the plugins drop down list.
2. Select the iso you want to rebuild.
3. Click extract LBA.
4. Click extract file and wait for it to finish.
5. Click rebuild file and wait for it to finish.
6. Click rebuild LBA.
7. Burn the new iso with Nero or DVD Decrypter as usual.

Short answer-no. Long answer-yes, but not worthwhile.
105. Q. How do I play PS2 games from another region online on my region PS2?
A. The short answer is you can't. The long answer is you can, but it's a pain in the arse. First you'd need to download Paradox's Console ID Changer: http://www.sksapps.com/index.php?page=online.html Then you'd need to find a vaild PS2/ilink ID for the region you wish to play online games with. These ID's are hard to come by, if any online servers detect multiple Console ID's online at the same time, you will be banned permanently. This isn't like getting kicked off for an hour because of cheating or using a modchip, this is for good. Once your Console ID is banned, you're history unless you change it with Paradox's ID Console ID Changer. So you'd have to have a vaild PS2/ilink Console ID from the desired region. Nobody in their right mind will give you their Console ID. Don't ask for them either, that violates every piracy law known to man. Look around the net, but don't expect Sony to be so stupid as to allow a Console ID on a board somewhere to be widely used. They didn't get that rich and powerful by being that idiotic. Likely any such ID's you find will have long since been banned. Further once you switch your Console ID to the desired region, you will only be able to play online games from that region. I.E. If you want to play PAL games online on an NTSC-US PS2, you can only do so if you change your PS2 Console/ilink ID to a vaild PAL Console/ilink ID. Then you'll be able to play PAL games online. But you would no longer be able to play NTSC-US games online. Furthermore, Paradox's Console ID Changer only works on v.1-8 PS2's. So if you have a slim, forget about it. See how long this question is. In the end, it's a waste of time to mess around with changing your PS2 Console ID.

Incorrect. Once you change your console and ilink id's you are then able to play both regions online. I have a PAL PS2 and im able to play both PAL and NTSC games online.
There is an excel file around the net that gives you some console and ilink id's and breifly explains how to change your console and ilink id's however I dont want to mention the site. Google and you shall find!

I see. Are you a 100% positive on that? From the forums I was reading, that part was a little unclear. Thanks for the info. If you're a 100% on that, I'll revise my FAQ. Cheers!

I originally have a PAL PS2 and have changed the console and ilink id's to NTSC. I have successfully been able to play Fight Night Round 2 (NTSC), FIFA 2006 (PAL) and F1 2005 (PAL) plus more games which I cant think of, all online without any hassles.

Thanks for the info Sick Unit. I'll revise my FAQ. That makes changing the Console/Ilink ID a little more feasable. It's still limited to v.1-8 PS2's (as far as I know), but it's possible.

Yeah so far the Paradox Machine ID Changer is for PS2 v1-8, however there is word that there might be a possible v9+ Machine ID Changer coming out soon.

I revised my FAQ. I'm glad someone actually tested this, I don't come across many people who use it, and actually know what their doing. Cheers!
