Well i got my TY's finally and i tried to burn GT4 and well it didnt work, they will work with the swap disks but not my modchip. I now have tried three kinds of DVD's but to no avail. Either there is something wrong with my system, (i doubt it), or i am burning them wrong.

I use DvD Decrypter and Nero. I followed the instructions to the letter.

Nero and Decrypter were downloaded if that is what you are asking...
I tried the same thing on my verbatims.

I just reciently switched from a Pioneer to a NEC DVD DL burner to work with Decrypter. I doubt that was the problem.

Did you download a rebuilt GT4 or did you shrink it to DVD-5 (single layer). What's the size of the iso? If it's Dual Layer, you need to burn it to a Dual Layer disc and enable DL support for your MI. If it's DVD-5 then kick up the burn speed to whatever the max speed of the disc is. GT4 is a constant disc access game, sometimes burning those at higher speeds will produce better results.

ok most of my backups are in mds/mdf format from Alcohol 120, i saw that the book feautre was not selected to i changed that from DVD+R to DVD-ROM when it burns. I hope that works now.

do i have to convert the mds to an iso format?

Don't worry about that. If you want the game to be in iso format, rip it to your HD with DVD Decrypter, that'll produce a mds and a iso file. The mds file contains info about the game that helps your PC figure out how to handle it, similar to a cue and bin file.

See the issue is they are not coasters, they work with the swap disk but they wont run on their own.

*sighs* ill try again one more time with a different game and see if i need to change anything.

These are the steps I took to copy these.

I had Alcohol 120 copy them as mds/mdf files, then i use the same program to copy them to a dvd-r. My TY's are dvd+r so im using the auto booktype feature to change them to a dvd-rom when they burn.

Am I doing anything wrong at all?

UPDATE
Ok i just make another mistake....geez whats with my copying...it just wont work on its own....bah this is frustrating. This is rediculous. I have tried everything and my system wont play them on their own, it will do a swap disk of the dvds i burn but wont play them with my modchip

What is the size of the GT4 iso? You need to answer those questions when I ask.

You could download a copy that's already rebuilt. If you're backing up an original copy, you don't need to shrink the game. The Matrix Infinity supports DL backups, you can simply burn the game to high quality Verbatim DVD+R DL media booktyped to DVD-ROM. I backed up GT4, MGS2:Substance, Xenosaga, and God of War to Verbatim DVD+R DL media no probs. Hit triangle+circle at bootup to access the firmware menu and enable DVD-9 DL support. Hit start to save your settings and press reset. Then you can play all your DL backups fine. That's one of the biggest advantages to having a quality chip, no shrinking DVD-9 to DVD-5. You can play straight burns of all your DL backups.
