So I recently obtained a real copy of Outbreak 2 and want to play it with my flat mates online.

I have a modded silver PS2. Problem is that the game refuses to play online - the DNAS detection fails. Now, I have a perfectly legit copy of the game so it must be them modchip acting up because the DNAS code should be hard-wired into the image of the disc since it's a real copy.

I had the mod done by some random guy when I didn't know much about it at the time but I'm pretty sure it's a reasonably recent "Messiah" chip that's installed.

I must admit I've had trouble playing DVDs and backups of PS games, but all original games and PS2 backups work fine.

Any help would be appriciated. :)

Update: I found out the error message is of this nature...

-402 sceDNAS2_SS_INVALID_MEDIA
Invalid disc. "DNAS Error (-402) A PS2 disc information error has occurred."

you need to turn the chip off to play online i think
