would using Convetr2DVD be the same as using nero 7 premium to burn my xvid file to a DVD? that is the processi usenow and it is very simple

Also
I have a bunch of movies that are DVDrips that got recoded into Divx format. Now my question is, is it worth it to buy dvd-r's and burn these Divx movies back onto a DVD. Wil there be a gain in quality?

Well my goal is just to get the best quality on a disc. so i can put in a player and watch on my tv.

Currently i have XviD files, i think they are avi(how can i check?). Anyway, i open up Nero start smart with Nero 7 premium and click on burn dvd movie. Then i drag and drop my XviD file to Nero and i make a menu then i click on next and then i click on burn. And it burns these files onto my DVD-R. And then i watch them on my tv.

Would there be a gain in quality by putting them onto DVD-R.

hi

if the file is AVI and after putting it onto disc its still AVI then theres no quailty loss

but if you convert to dvd files then you get a quailty loss, now depending on which apps used it can be minimal and not noticable, depending on screen size of TV?

Ok here is gonna be my setup. I am getting a 50 inch lcd HDTV with a player to watch my movies on.
Now i want to get the best quality out of my XviD files on my computer. Would it be better for me to buy a dvd player and convert these xvid's to dvd-r's with Nero.
Or would it be better to get a XviD player and watch these movies with my XviD player?

And what does AVI have to do with anything? in Nero, if i convert these to dvd to put on my DVD-R, would they stil be AVI?

hi

most people just drag and drop a avi to CDR as they usually fit for a divx player, but if you get a 2 avi film then i spose it wont fit and you may need a dvdr with the 2 avi on it?

just as a data type CDR

sorry i aint got a divx player...

on the size tv you are getting i would say dont convert it!
