verbatim, they've work perfectly with all my other games. What version Swap magic do you use? Did you use DVD Decrypter to copy it? Maybe I should try burning again?

Ive already wasted 3 dvds. How do you make this game work? I have a modchip. I tried to back it up with Nero burning rom, with udf/iso option, it complained the file was too big.

Can anyone help me?

If you're using Nero just select Copy DVD. As long as it's not a DVD-9 it should burn alright. Covenant has dummy files and it burned just fine. Some games need rebuilding, some dont.

My backup of Shadow Hearts: FTNW was a straight copy from the original disc, and it plays fine... Guess it could just be the usual bad media/too high speed (8x, 16x, whatever)/and so on... Or not. I used a Verbatim disc (4x burned at 2x) for my backup, if that makes any difference. Anyhoo, good luck!

That's because Memosux blows. I burned my copy to Yuden000T02 and it plays perfectly on my Matrix Infinity. Dummy files don't affect a modchip at all. Get some quality Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim media and it should work fine.

86. Q. Where can I find good deals on legit Taiyo Yuden's and Verbatim's?
A. http://www.supermediastore.com
Great List of Merchants locally, online, in the U.K., etc:
http://www.digitalfaq.com/dvdguides/buyerguides/buymedia.htm

106. Q. Where can I find top notch Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim media locally?
A. This is somewhat of a crap shoot. Big manufacturer's like Fuji and Sony have at one point past or present payed Taiyo Yuden to manufacture media for them. The big companies slap their name on the label even though the discs were manufactured in Japan by Taiyo Yuden. These discs will always be made in Japan. Authentic TY media isn't made anywhere else. Even if it says Made in Japan on the label, there is no guarantee of getting authentic Taiyo Yuden media. You could still end up with Sony or Fuji media codes. Hence why I said this is a crap shoot. Places like Comp USA, Office Depot, Sam's Club, and Staples will carry Made In Japan branded discs. Again there is no way to know for sure from the package whether these are authentic Taiyo Yuden's. The exception is that Sony MIJ 8x DVD+R's will always code out as Yuden000T02. If you don't want to risk getting non TY discs, you can find 50 packs of Verbatim in the afore mentioned chain stores. One other alternative is the Made in Japan High Grade Maxell DVD+R's. They will say Made in Japan on the label and "High Grade" as well. These are excellent media. Remember when using DVD+R's, it's best you have a burner that supports booktyping/bitsetting, and a v.4 PS2 or later. Much thanks goes to kivory666 aka "docTY" for this information. He is indeed the Taiyo Yuden master. The best place to get authentic Taiyo Yuden media is from reputable online vendors like http://www.supermediastore.com http://www.rima.com http://www.meritline.com or http://www.newegg.com

I am getting Maxell discs, I dont know if it says high end on it since I am getting them from best buy, in theory should it work with these discs or do I have to really purchase taiyo yuden?

@Tokijin

I made a mistake, the 3rd burn, actually without rebuilding, a direct burn, actually worked!!!

So its all good, like mousse royale ice cream. Thats how satisfying it is for me now.

Was that on Memosux or Maxell? I'd still invest in some quality DVD media, so as to avoid something like this in the future. This will not be the last time you have a coaster/boot failure with Memorex.

No its a memosux. Honestly, if it weren't for afterdawn, I would not know the difference between using dvd media.

I am done with memosux, I got some Maxell, its maybe not tayo yuden, but I've read in some posts that its fine, way better than Memosux.

Thanks a million Tokijin, your prompt replies are very much appreciated.

Well the company on the label doesn't mean much. Big companies outsource their discs to different manufacturers of varying quality. The best bet is to get some Taiyo Yudens or Verbatim's. The best and cheapest way to get them is online, but you can get good deals locally if you know where to look.
