That really is a how long is a piece of string, or how can I skin a cat question.

It really depends on exactly what you want to do, but ripper software rips at the same speed, it really depends on your hardware, strangely some older hardware is quicker, and it also depends on what processing you do. If you are going to compress the DVD, then the quickest way would be with DVD2ONE, then burn with Nero. I would say the quickest from scratch to burned DVD would be about 2 hours, with less time for additional duplicates.

Ripping about 20-45 minutes. Processing about 15-45 minutes, burning 1x = 1 hour, etc etc.

Paul.

Above is all correct although...

My ripping time is down to 10-25 mins (Lite-On 165H X16)

Use DVD shrink to rip and compress the dvd 9 to fit on one DVD then burn with the software of your choice.

Or get a burner at 2X speed and cut that burn time to like 30min, thats what I have. You can also get a 4X, but I don't know about the reliability issue.

I have to say, I am not sure why everyone is in such a hurry to back up the DVDs they own. It is very suspicious to me that everyone is in such a rush, as I can't imagine how many DVDs these people have purchased in order to need to back them up so quickly.

I am happy to back up my DVDs slowly and make sure they work.

I concur with both points you've made.

I have X2 capabilities but rarely burn a back up at such speed.
Best reliability is good blank media & slow burn.

Congratulations on being this weeks winner of the most stupid post award.

I would deliver the award in person, but apparently the hospital you are in only allows visits from family. I have contacted your doctor to make sure your computer privileges are cancelled.

You have been warned, another outburst directed at the people who run and help run this site will get you a banning. Now be a good boy and play nicely.

You are the weakest link, goodbye.

Paul.

And for the record, I have a job, it pays very well and this is just a hobby.

Yes, I sit at a computer (not all day) and help people out for free (sometimes!)

hi
i haver made about 50 dvd and i can do it two ways
you need dvd deqrypter
dvd2one "get off kazaa then its free"
pinnicle intsant copie "get off kazaa then its free"
put in a dvd
then open up dvd deqrypter select all the files not just the video ones
then click deqrypt
when it is finished open dvd2one select the source the video ts file that you just created
then m,ake a new folder and select that as source
click next
then pick your sound and other things then click start
then open up nero and creat a dvd video then selct all the files in the new folder and add them to video not audio
then write it
its done
or using pinnicle just select the file then put in a new folder on your harddrive then click next
when its finished select the file as source then go to your writer and write it

dvd2one is faster but pinnicle puts all the special features on one disc
hope this helps

The weakest link has been removed.

The forum moderators spend hours after hours helping out people on this forum, guiding the ever ending flood of newbies to the right path. If someone is such a jackass that gives no credit to efforts of the forum moderators, then he doesn't deserve to be around.

The old school is back. All hail the new http://BitBurners.com !

Good to see the admin standing up for his mods.

The fastest way now I would say has got to be dvdxcopy xpress. It rips persay and transcodes at the same time then you just got to click start to burn. You can even put the blank in the burner and the movie in the rom before starting the app and it will then burn automaticly.

I agree! I have dvdxcopy and the new released dvdxcopy xpress. I prefer to use dvdxcopy because you can keep all menus but if its gonna take up two disks then I use dvdxcopy xpress. Works a treat!
