You would want the get the cd id utility. It comes in 2 versions, cd and dvd, but they are the same exact program. You can use the dvd version for cds, and the cd version for dvds. The original program is on cd, but some people's ps2's wont read cds very well, so someone modified the program to be burnt to dvd.
From your first post, i thought you knew what you were doing. What exactly are you trying to do? The id utility is a specific program that gets the dnas id off an original ps2 game, is this the program you are talking about? If so, what disc you burn to depends on what version you have. Dvd id utility = burn to dvd, Cd id utility = burn to cd.
