it should work fine. some ps2's are picky and dont like games burnt at 16x so you might have burn at 8x. make sure you stay away from rw's. stick with good media like verb's or sony's and only use DVD-R. good luck.

thank you....ok so if i were to get this...all i need to do is burn at 8x speed and use good dvd-r's now rw's and it should work....Please i want mucho responses

like i said it depends. what kind of ps2 do you have? what type of mod are you going to use? every ps2 is diffrent. what may work for some wont work for all. i've had issues with burning games at 16x. so i went down to 8x. but mainly i burn at 1x. i know it takes longer, but i don't have to worry about the game not working. use dvd decryptor to make and burn the ISO's. it could be hard to find now seeing as how they dont make it anymore but its a great program.

ok well i have an older p2s not sure what version sorry, and i have dvd decryptor and the swap disc magic thingy. will i just be able to tell the burner what speed to write at in decryptor or will that not work?

do a test burn at 16x and see if it works. what version of swap magic do you have? if you have an older ps2 then you need to get a slide card to open the tray. i'd be afraid to use it honestly. i don't like the idea of forcing it open.

i just confirmed that 16x can cause issues with the ps2 laser. best bet is to burn slower.

in the bottom right hand corner of dvd decryptor it says write speed and there is a drop down where you can pick your speed.

so thats it...so does the write speed of the burner (like the speed it says on the box) does that speed matter

the speed of the burner is just the max it can write at. when you set the speed in decryptor your just setting the speed for the moment. when you burn movies they will burn at 16x. when you burn games they will burn at the speed you set in decryptor.
