I;m trying to burn a dvd to a dual layer Ritek disc with Clone2DVD/AnyDVD. I've burned several 4.7 sized discs but I got some DL -Rs to burn music DVDs. As soon as Clone begins to burn the disc I get an error, as shown in the screen shot below. Any idea why? I set the size to DL quality and the burner I'm using is LiteOn 1693sx Dual Layer, which is supposed to be compatible with -R DL discs. Luckily, the disc isn't being coasted...

You might want to slow down the burn process to 2.4 X for DL disc. This could be the one reason why the burning process crashes at the beginning.

I looked up the specs on your burner and you're right, it is supposed to burn both DVD+R DL and DVD-R DL. Maybe the problem is with the disc itself. I know some people will disagree with me, but I think Ritek discs are not particularly good. Have you had this problem before, or is it the first DL disc you're trying?

It's the first DL disc I'm trying. I set the speed at 4x because thats what the disc is, but I'll try to slow it down and see what happens...

some times clonedvd has problems burning -dl on some burners use +dl..
i burn +dl with out a problem all the time..
support has been +dl for a long time..with clondvd.

this was just added in version clone 2281 2006 02 01
New: Added support for DVD-R DL writing (only writing to +R Dual Layer
Discs was supported)
