I am trying to use ScubaPete's guides to make a mirror copy of my dvds. I am reasonably certain that I have followed all his instructions as written. When I open up DVD shrink andtry to open files I get the following message- failed to open file C:\dvdwork\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.VOB The system cannot find the file specified. The weird thing is when I open my file I can watch the movie on my HD. Can any one help me with this problem? or should I switch to NnyDVD & CloneDVD as an alternative thanks

If you ripped in iso mode then go to the File tab in Shrink and then the "Open Disk Image".

Don't put a VIDEO_TS name in the working folder as Pete suggests. Shrink is doing that for you so when you try to open it Shrink may be getting confused.

I will mess around with this and if it is an error in the guide I will fix it.

I've got Fantastic 4 going into my "Shrink Test Target folder/VIDEO_TS folder so when it gets done I'll see if I can open with Shrink.

Ok it finished ripping and I opened it in Shrink without any problems.

The folder layout looks like this when opened with Shrink:

#1 is my normal Shrink working folder.
#2 is the folder I created for this test.
#3 is the VIDEO_TS folder I created for this test.
#4 is the VIDEO_TS file created by Decrypter. I clicked on this to open the movie in Shrink.

As far as I know yours should open as well. You really don't need to make a VIDEO_TS folder as per the guide though.

Thanks, you are right. I did not have to use any test folder name at all. By just letting the movie name be the folder, I was able to open DVD Shrink and proceed. If anybody else has this problem, I would advise them to follow your advice and try that Thanks for the help

Your welcome and thanks for bringing that to our attention. I'll fix the guide to reflect this.
