Used to be able to convert rm & ra files to mp3, then all of a sudden poof no luck, what happened. Gives me errors like no codecs (which I have) or it will convert and give me a small no sound file. Any suggestions?

The mp3 codec for dbpoweramp is only good for 30 days if I'm not mistaken. Unless you puchase the pro version. You can get an older version of dbPoweramp here & the mp3 codec will stay FREE forever.

If you would like to update the Lame codec that dbpoweramp uses you can go here & get the latest & just replace the one that's in the old version of dbpoweramp.

If you need help, I can tell you how I did it. If I can remember!!

the mp3 codec is free, you just need to download and install the LAME codec, not the one it comes with...

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:

You'll have to be a little more specific. What questions do you have?

With regards to the Lame download. I thought I had all the codecs necessary downloaded, and then the thing starts to give me err messages like No codec present & audio file may be damaged (and I know its not, since I hand converetd the same file before using the same program), so once I have downloaded the program & installed it, then I download the codecs which I have since I see them when I execute the program, the options are seen with the wondw that is displayed (which file to convert). I clikc on that file and convert to MP3 or WAV and gives me same error, or just creates a very tiny file with 1 beep in it, and that is it. I have unistalled, re-installed, nothing seems to work. Thanks for all your efforts.
