Not sure if this is the right fourm but I I got major spyware and virus when trying to download tv themes off of limewire.
This is just a caution for anybody else trying to do the same.
I did a search for tv themes and a few of them were spyware. They looked like the real thing but after you download and try to open them this porno flashes and then you get files loaded on your HD. Some of the tv themes were fine but you couldn't tell which ones were not infected with this spyware. I have since had to reformat my HD.
All of my other downloads from limewire were fine.

So, they figured out how to put spyware into an MP3 or you downloaded some EXE file and ran that thinking it was music? Truly you should never do this with an EXE file, and you really shouldn't be using limewire either. Horrible, horrible waste of space.

I could't tell if they were EXE files. Limewire usually warns me if I try to download a EXE file, they looked liked a mp3.
I also kind of like Limewire. What don't you like about it and what else would you suggest I use.

I don't know anything about Frostwire. Why is it better than Limewire and what is there about it that would make me want to switch from Limewire.

There isn't a lot of difference, really.

The main idea is that Limewire will soon be implementing filters to weed out copyrighted content, so the idea of frostwire is to offer an open alternative of the same quality for those users who prefer to have the freedom of deciding for themselves which files to share and which not to..
