AMD 2700+ only reading as a 1700+

Got a 2700 reading as a 1700. Motherboard is a MSI KT6AV. The FSB is reading at 133Mhz. Any ideas how to get it back to 2700

Hey, Is this a new build,did you change any jumpers on your mother board,did you change the multiplier in bios?
FSB=166mhz.
multiplier=13
Check and change these settings and you should be fine.

Basically, I popped the old chip (2200+), and put the 2700 in. I did not do anything else. I thought the mobo would read it.

@tbowling, Check the manual or the MSI website for the correct jumper settings on your mother board.

Yes, must change FSB to 166MHz.
Should've just done that with the 2200+ CPU...
(13.5 multiplyer would give XP2800+)

The XP2200+ runs 133MHz x 13.5 = 1800MHz
The XP2700+ runs 166MHz x 13 = 2166MHz
Your XP3000+ also runs 166MHz x 13 = 2166MHz (but has the larger 512KB Barton cache).
