Problem with layer break (I think)

This site is great and I've learned alot. Here's my issue: I burnt Goblet of Fire on DVD-R DL with dvd decrypter, no problem. I played it in my Panasonic home system, and the movie played. I thought I was on my way. I decided to jump ahead a few chapters and I let it play. At the same spot, everytime I went there, the movie froze. It is 1h 30 mins 50-53 seconds. I'm wondering if this is where the layer break is. It's funny because I can ff through the "feeze" and it will continue. The movie plays flawlessly on my pc drive (no freezing at this particular section.) I'm wondering if it's my dvd player not properly recognizing the layer break and if there's tricks to the trade to alleviate it.

Some players just don't like dls. My fatherinlaw has one that plays everything I throw at it but dls. If it plays everything else and plays on your computer you can probably bank on it. Also use verb dl. They work when nothing else will.

Thanks for your reply, Johnny. I think I solved my problem. As suggested on this forum, I was able to change the book type on my burner to DVD-ROM. I used a DVD+R DL and it played.

Sorry I didn't think of that. Yes booktyping dvd +r is the way to go. Much better compatibility. Dvd -r can not be done that way so you were correct to go with the dvd +dl. Good going my friend
