As the tittle says, How can i configure my router to allow people to connect to my computer? U see, i play CounterStrike and StarCraft alot and to be at my best, i need to be able to, 1. Host games in StarCraft and, 2. Run a dedicated server for CounterStrike.
to do either of these things i need to know how to configure my router properly. some one told me something about "opening ports on my router" but i dont no what they ment... well any help would be nice ^_^

The easiest thing to do when you want to host MP games is to put your computer in the DMZ of your router.

The way I do it is go to the "Status" tab, click on my "clients" table to see my IP, it's faster than finding it in your settings, it's easier for me anyway because my computer has a unique name...

Then I just throw myself in the DMZ and no ports are blocked. This is NOT recommended if your system isn't secure, but I've never had a problem. You'll get scanned, but probably not connected to. Just make SURE you disable the DMZ when you're done.

Otherwise, you need to read the manuals for your specific games about what ports to forward...there's something like 60,000 choices, so don't expect us to know.
